East Asian Law Series

Mrs Professor Dr. Yuanshi Bu is editor of the "East Asian Law Series" published by the LIT Verlag.

With the rise of China, the economic and political importance of East Asia is steadily increasing. There are not only close economic interdependencies between the West and the Far East, but also significant legal ties. China, Japan and Korea have each modernised their legal systems by an extensive reception of Western, especially German Law. Therefore, detailed analyses of the East Asian Law are beneficial for economic activities of foreign companies in the region as well as for scientific debates about Comparative Law and for dialogues on the rule of law at state level. With the "East Asian Law Series", the Freiburg Chair of International Economic Law with special focus on East Asia tries to meet these needs and, in particular, to make East Asian Law available to those readers having limited access to relevant literature due to language barriers. The series contain excellent doctoral theses, book chapters and monographies focusing on East Asian legal issues. "East Asian Law Series" aims to discuss both fundamental and up-to-date issues of the East Asian Law in a thorough dogmatic way and to go beyond general guidance. The key subjects are the reception of law, Investment Law and Intellectual Property Law in East Asia.
