Mrs Prof. Dr. Yuanshi Bu, LL.M. (Harvard)

 

Prof. Dr. Yuanshi Bu was born 1976 in Tongyu, Jilin province, PRC.

 

In November 2006 she was appointed as a professor at the Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg, Germany and since then holds this chair (International Economic Law with a focus on East Asia).

 

Career:

  • Research associate  at the Institute of Economic Law at the University Bern (April 2001 to December 2002)
  • Employee at a German law firm in Shanghai (2003)
  • Lawyer at Homburger AG, a corporate law firm in Zurich (October 2004 to January 2007)
  • Appointment as a professor at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg for the chair International Economic Law with a focus on East Asia (November 2006)

 

Attorney Qualifications:

  • Chinese attorney's qualification (June 1999)
  • Admission to the Bar of New York State (October 2005)

 

Studies:

  • Bachelor's degree in German language and literature studies and computer sciences at the Tongji University in Shanghai (September 1993 to July 1997)

  • Master's degree at the German-Chinese Institute of Economic Law of Nanjing University (September 1997 to March 2001)

  • Masters's degree at the University of Göttingen (October 1999 to October 2000)

  • Doctor thesis under the supervision of Prof. Roland von Büren at the Institute of Economic Law of the University of Bern, topic "Fair Use on the internet” (2002)

  • LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School (August 2003 to June 2004)
